Accommodations

MLC focuses on providing students with a pleasant, safe and convenient living environment. Students can choose to live in one of the school’s apartments or in a homestay. It would be a group living experience with individual rooms and meals managed by the school, or in a homestay, which is a fun and diverse environment.

MLC offers villa-style student housing for students. For safety reasons, the school requires the students under age of 18 to live with the school guardian. Students are provided with individual rooms, three meals per day, free wireless internet access, free fruit and beverages, and a dedicated counselor to manage student life, letting students and parents feeling comfortable and assured. Students over the age of 18, or those with relatives or friends in Canada as guardians, may choose to rent or have a homestay family arranged by the school, depending on the student’s preference.

Other Living Services

Airport Shuttle Bus

In order to welcome new students, we will arrange personal pick-up from the airport to the dormitory to ensure safe travel for students when they first arrive in Toronto. Please contact our Student Services Office with your student's specific flight information once you have booked your flight.

New Student Settlement Services

New students are assigned to help make the transition to Canadian high school life and culture easier. Counsellors will purchase health insurance for new students, take them to the bank to open an account, and help them get acquainted with the campus, learn about the school's curriculum, and explore the culture of their new home in a foreign country. Counsellors are also on hand to answer any questions about the campus, culture, transportation, friendships, etc.

Guardianship Services

MLC can provide student guardianship services for international students under 18 years of age, as required by the Canadian Ministries of Education and Immigration.

International Student Consultation

We provide student consultation on visas, study permits, health insurance, municipal services, and other questions students may encouter in Canada.

Community Activities

Maple Leaf Collegiate offers a wide range of international volunteer opportunities for students. Our school has strong ties with the local Toronto government, business and community, providing quality educational services to the region as well as a large number of international volunteer opportunities for students to meet their volunteer service needs. (The Ontario Ministry of Education requires students to complete at least 40 hours of volunteer service during the secondary school before receiving their graduation diploma.)
