MLC has authorized Hubei Shiyan Dongfeng High School and Dongfeng No.2 High School to offer a joint China-Canada curriculum, which introduces 5 levels of ESL (English as a Second Language) into China to seamlessly integrate with the regular culture curriculum. This allow students to truly and effectively improve their English learning and lay a solid foundation for future study abroad or domestic learning advancement.

The foreign teachers hired by the International Department receive training and guidance from the curriculum system of Maple Leaf Collegiate in Toronto, Canada. The syllabus and textbooks are fully aligned with the local Canadian study. At the same time, the international classes will also receive lectures and tutorials from experienced local teachers in Canada through an advanced real-time distance learning system. This ensures that students at Dongfeng will receive a high-quality English education without leaving the country.

The program has successfully sent many students to the University of Toronto, McMaster University, and the University of Western Ontario, and has become a model of cooperation between Canadian private high schools and Chinese public high schools.
